Hello!

It’s been quite a while since I posted. Life has been rather hectic, short term jobs, new boyfriend, visiting boyfriend, moving house etc.

I’ve decided to start blogging again, however I’ve decided to switch over to blogspot. So if you’re interested in following me, feel free to check out Peppermint Girl.

So I’ve had a rough time recently. But now everything is out in the open and I feel a lot better. However today I came home early from work because I was so sick, I’ve been in bed all afternoon. I’m thinking I’ll take the day off tomorrow. Here’s a nice summary of the past few days:

TUESDAY

We got complimentary tickets to the musical Hairspray at work, so I went to that on Tuesday night. It was fun. I hadn’t been to the theatre in years so it was nice to experience that again. We also got into the corporate room and got free drinks! Score!

WEDNESDAY

I decided to get some more apps for my phone, I got this photography one because I’ve decided I need to be taking more photos and I can’t be bothered to lug around my Canon. This is a photo of the wall in front of my desk.

THURSDAY

I had my favourite class on Thursday at uni, it’s called Artist Book. Pretty much I get to make a book using old letterpress printing processes and lino block prints. I’m a sucker for handmade things so it’s perfect for me, although whilst cutting my lino I also cut my finger.

This puppet was sitting on the counter when I got to work this morning. I have no idea how it got there or why it was even there in the first place. However I embraced it and dubbed it Mrs. Snufflekins.

Also, I turn 21 a month from today.

DO. NOT. WANT.

Tonight I saw Gang Of Four live. It was pretty phenomenal. My left knee took a serious beating but that’s okay, moshpit wounds are my favourite. I scored a setlist and witnessed the destruction of a guitar as well as a microwave on stage.

I did a modeled in a photoshoot for my friend last week, this is one of the shots. I can’t wait to see the rest of them.

This weekend is my last before I head back to university to do my honours degree. I feel like I don’t want to go back, like I’m actually ready to face the real world, but now I guess I’m stuck at uni for another year. At least I know that I’ll be ready when the time comes.

Right now I feel an overwhelming sense of sadness, but I’m not sure if it’s because of university realisations or because of other things. I just feel kind of empty. I’m hoping that in two weeks all that will change.

So I got promoted at work after about 3 seconds. I’m now not only working in the call centre, I’m also going to be doing marketing! Which means I get to use my degree for something, aka making posters and seating charts and maps and logos and everything else.

I start tomorrow.

Once again I’ve been busy working every day. Yesterday was my last day of training so now I’m officially a Ticketmaster girl. We went out to celebrate afterwards at this bar at 4pm, and I wasn’t planning on staying much longer than 8pm but I ended up staying until just after midnight, haha. Needless to say it was a good time, talked for hours, got free drinks, hooray!

I also got my first pay check, so to celebrate earning more money in one week than I usually earn in a month I bought this 50s dress off Etsy:

I’m a sucker for gingham dresses. One day my wardrobe will be full of pretty dresses from the 50s.

Wowzers, I’ve been so busy! Lots of things to update:

1. I got a new job! Hooray! It’s about time I got a job on my own merit (ignoringthefactthatmyfriendsworkthereandinformedmeofthejob). But I had to be interviewed and I got the job so I feel like it was my own merit. So for the past week I’ve been training every day from 8:45am to 4:30pm. I haven’t gotten up at 7am since high school so it’s been a bit tiring. I’ve got one more week of training to go and then I am an official Ticketmaster call centre opperator - yayyy. I have a feeling this is going to be a job filled with stories to tell…

2. I really need to get my hair done.

3. I’ve been going to the movies more often because I’ve finally found some friends to go with! Pleased. We’re going to see Enter The Void (hopefully) on Monday night, it always seems to be sold out, so fingers crossed. But otherwise this week I saw Tangled and Winter’s Bone. Both of which were alright. 4. I’m going to play Dungeons And Dragons this week because I’m super cool.

5. Did I mention I needed to get my hair done?

6. I’ve been getting a lot of complements about my style recently, which I always really appreciate. A customer at the video store came in and told me that his daughter said I always “look really cool” so I was like YAY I WIN. Then my friend told me that people at the office (my new job) have been making nice comments about me so I was like YAY DOUBLE WIN. :]]]

7. My brother and I just had a Simpsons marathon of our ten favourite episodes. It was awesome.

&& whilst doing so we also looked up events and it turns out my mum’s birthday in 1954 was the most boring day ever - hahahaha.

I went on a road trip yesterday with a couple of friends into the country to pick berries. I’d never been berry picking before, but it was really fun!

We spent the night in Moe, played poker, watched a movie -  and then the power went out, which made things super fun! We lit tons of candles and played board games all night. Cluedo - which was very atmospheric, Scrabble and Monopoly. The power finally came back on at 2:30am, so we watched The Town and then passed out at 5:30am. A great day.
